Many young people use emojis and meme-like stickers in text chats to add tone and emotion. Plain text can feel flat or awkward, while exaggerated emojis can quickly express feelings, lighten the mood, and make conversations more playful.
This project brings that same expressive layer into video communication. It detects emotion words or reaction words in speech, such as wow, eww, or sad, and automatically overlays a matching cute or funny emoji on the speaker’s face like a live sticker filter. The goal is to help people who aren’t very good at expressing emotion through facial expressions communicate more easily, while also reducing awkwardness and adding playful energy to face-to-face interaction.
